Diabetes
Approximately 23.6 million children and adults in the United States have diabetes, while 5.7 million people have the disease, but have not been diagnosed. With more Tulare County residents being diagnosed with adult-onset diabetes, Visalia Medical Clinic helps people better manage diabetes.
Visalia Medical Clinic offers a diabetes education program and a low-cost support group led by Susan Smith, a nationally Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), Ph.D, and a specialist in the field of diabetes, Dr. James Mohs, MD. As an endocrinologist, Dr. Mohs works with patients of Visalia Medical Clinic to manage their diabetes by prescribing medications, offering diet plans and keeping a close watch on blood glucose levels.
