The Family Medicine Residency Program is an unopposed program at Adventist Health Glendale and serves as the primary inpatient service for the medical center. Each year, our residents spend 12-16 weeks on inpatient service at Adventist Health Glendale. The residents are active and involved members of the Adventist Health Glendale medical staff and are fully integrated into Adventist Health Glendale’s environment.

The residency's primary clinic, Vituity Family Medicine Center, opened its doors in December 2021 and is conveniently located on the hospital campus. We are excited about the incoming residency class providing care to their continuity patients at the newly renovated clinic. Vituity Family Medicine Center implemented Cerner as the electronic medical record (EMR) platform, the same EMR the hospital uses, significantly enhancing the efficiency and efficacy of our patient care.
Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA)

One of the highlights of our program is the ability to rotate through the Emergency Department at CHLA, which is one of only 12 Level I Pediatric Trauma Centers in the nation. CHLA has been ranked as a top health care facility for children by U.S. News & World Report magazine every year since the magazine began ranking pediatric hospitals in 1990. In U.S. News & World Report's most recent rankings, CHLA was ranked the No. 1 hospital for children in California, No. 1 in the Western U.S. and a top 5 pediatric hospital in the nation. Located in the heart of Los Angeles and only 15 minutes away from Glendale, residents spend 2 weeks in their first year and 6 weeks in second year training in the Emergency Department.
Inpatient Pediatrics and Labor & Delivery at Adventist Health White Memorial

Our sister hospital, Adventist Health White Memorial, is a 353-bed community medical center located in the heart of Los Angeles and only 15 minutes from Adventist Health Glendale. During first year, our residents spend four weeks training in Inpatient Pediatrics and six weeks on the Inpatient Obstetrics service at the Oscar De La Hoya Labor and Delivery Center.
Obstetrics and Gynecology at Asian Pacific Health Care Venture, Inc. (APHCV)

Established in 1986, APHCV is located in East Hollywood, only 15 minutes away from AHGL. APHCV provides all encompassing, culturally-competent care to an underserved community with on-site labs, an on-site dispensary, and live interpreters speaking several different languages such as Spanish, Tagalog, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese, Khmer, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Bengali. During their 6 week OB/GYN rotation at APHCV, residents provide continuity care to patients from many different countries, learn the complexity of cultural beliefs surrounding pregnancy and birth, and gain extensive experience working with certified translators.
